I found yoga back in 2010… I was seeking a way to still my mind and become more present in my life. Yoga was the answer. On my mat, I felt grounded, focused and aware.
Fast forward 9 years, and here I am now qualified to teach and share my love of yoga with both adults and children. In 2015, I undertook my 200hr teacher training at the Seasonal Yoga Academy, under the coaching of Julie Hanson, Sue Woodd and Marit Akintewe. Three extraordinary yogis who developed the Seasonal Yoga concept.. Drawing upon philosophy teachings of both Yoga and Traditional Chinese medicine and also by working with the seasonal changes, meridian lines and emotions to create this innovative approach to yoga. I have also trained with international yoga teacher Kathryn Budig, and furthered my knowledge of the chakras through work with renowned author and spiritual teacher Anodea Judith. Adding another string to my bow, I trained with Rainbow Kids Yoga to become a certified Family and Kids Yoga teacher. Rainbow Kids yoga are known across the globe for their inspirational children’s teachers!
My classes are enriched with my experience and teachings so far… Blended into the perfect cocktail of Vinyasa flow, flavours of Seasonal Yoga, a dash of pranayama (breathing techniques), a good measure of meditation, a sprinkling of yoga philosophy, all topped off with bit of light-hearted fun!
Many people come to yoga classes for the physical benefits.. (of which there are many!), however these are only one element of this ancient practice . Yoga in fact is so much more and in my classes I hope to introduce elements of these and leave my students energised and filled with a sense of well-being.
Newbies to yoga often feel nervous about joining their first class, worried they won’t be able to touch their toes, or that they’re not ‘bendy’ enough. This is so not the case and through my classes I aim to breakdown these barriers and help you find your practice, that feels good for you – all with a playful nature!
